ABOUT FAITH PRO HERO

Faith Pro Hero is the one-stop-shop for helping believers in Jesus Christ share their faith with a spiritually hungry yet skeptical audience. Our mission is to teach Christians how to take the good news and reality of Jesus to their friends, family, and neighbors in a contemporary, practical, and powerful way.

FAITH PRO HERO BELIEFS

Faith Pro Hero is a Protestant non-denominational organization. Our statement of beliefs are as follows:
- The Bible is the inspired word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- The Being referred to as "God" is made of three equal and divine persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7)
- Jesus is 100% man and 100% God, also referred to in the scriptures as "The Son" and "The Word" (John 1:1)
- Jesus was born of a virgin named Mary (Matthew 1:18-25)
- Christians are considered the children of God via adoption through faith and make up the body of Christ (Ephesians. 1:5)
- Jesus bodily died and physically rose again taking the punishment of sin on behalf of the entire world (1 John 2:2)
- Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9)
- True faith is always accompanied by works (James 2:18)... aka, if you believe it you will live it- Jesus said all who believe in Him will do what He did and more (John 14:12); which still includes signs, wonders, and miracles which are to be carried out by His followers through belief AND action (Mark 16:18)

There is of course more, but if we agree up until this point then we are probably on the same page in most areas.
How I Met God and Became Less Religious

HOW IT STARTED

I have an unusual way of looking at the world. My wife says "I'm special," but she hasn't told me what kind of special she was talking about. I have always felt that whatever was happening in the Bible then, must also be happening now. I.e., miracles; healings; God showing up etc. And along the way I have discovered that it's true! God is still moving, still working, and still changing lives. And I have also discovered that there are countless Christians around the world who are witnessing and experiencing the same truths (even here in North America - the most atheistic nation of them all), and they feel passionate about telling the world about it! The problem is they don't know how.

The short version of the story is that I had always been trying to tell people about God. I even assumed that it was something that all Christians did simply because the Bible tells us so, and not necessarily because any of us are really motivated to do it. Let's face it; who feels like going out of their way to talk to a stranger about one of the touchiest-topics one could ever talk about? It can be uncomfortable! But still, I thought that this was something all Christians did - so I did it.

It wasn't until I started consistently hanging out with Christians that I noticed something completely different. Everyone seemed content with just keeping to themselves. We would be hanging out in groups and I would see a homeless person or a person of a different religion or even just someone that looked like they could use encouragement, and it was as if they were invisible to the rest of the group. Was I the only one seeing this person? Was I the only one that thought we should go talk to them? There were many times where I would be with pastors even and they were no different. Was I the only one who cared?

THE MISSION

After talking with other believers about it, I realized it's not that they didn't care it's that they felt paralyzed. It wasn't that they didn't want to talk with others; it was that they cared so much that they didn't want to jeopardize anything by coming across as weird, stupid, or wreck the relationship. They didn't want to be the reason that someone would turn-off from Jesus. "I would talk with them if they asked me about it" they would say. The funny part about that is while the Christians are waiting for the world to start the conversation, the world is waiting for them to make the first move. It's like two insecure preteens at a disco; both standing as close to the wall as possible hoping the other crosses the floor first to ask them to dance. We have a standstill.

Missions and evangelism have always been on my heart. I've been certified in apologetics, leadership, and have been an avid student of communication for a long time. Along the way I got the chance to live in Cuba for a few years as a missionary. I've traveled to and preached in countries all around the world on the streets, on stages, and even on national television. And out of all that, the one thing that I enjoy the most, which is also what I think is the most effective in comparison to all that I've tried, is the one on one conversation with someone. Preaching to crowds is good and many people receive a lot of good things from it. But it is in the face-to-face moments where people get to be heard, they get to feel loved, and that is what touches their hearts more than anything else. The moment when someone who knows God would stop and listen to them with interest, not just with an agenda. That's when people start to see the reality of God. People are rarely won through arguments or philosophy. They are won through love and experience, and this is done face to face.

FAITH PRO HERO

Faith Pro Hero started as a movement to encourage believers that sharing your faith with others is not that difficult. It all boils down to sincere love and basic people skills. If you are sincerely interested in people and you simply follow the guidelines of how you would like someone to start a conversation with you, then you are 80% of the way there.

Because there are endless resources out there for getting trained up in the Bible, we don't specialize in teaching theology. We trust that you are plugged into a life giving church that is teaching you the truth of the Bible and that you are an already committed believer and student of the word. There are some aspects that we highlight that are essential when sharing your faith such as the topics of your identity in Jesus and what role that plays in the world; but our focus is really just how to start the conversation so that you can deliver the goods.

Thank you for visiting our website! Wherever you are in the process - learning how to start the conversation, figuring out what to say during the conversation, or even just investigating some new ideas you can use for having amazing spiritual focused conversations - let us know how we can help you take that next step of becoming a Faith Pro Hero. That's what we're here for!

We look forward to working with you and changing the world together.
